Since 1975 the preservation of the Thrussington Conservation Area has been a factor to be considered in all planning applications within the village. Its existence is confirmation of the special architectural and historic interest of the village centre and the area around Manor Farm.
An excellent summary of the particular attractions of the Conservation Area and the impact it has on planning policy is available in the Character Appraisal document from 2013.
