Following the interruption to the local plan examination hearings, the inspectors have now confirmed that examination hearings will resume in October and sessions will take place on October 25th and 26th to consider housing and employment needs. In the meantime, a planning application has been lodged with Charnwood by Bellway Homes to build 68 houses on the site identified in the draft local plan as HA68. The plans can be viewed on the Charnwood planning portal using the application reference P/22/1539/2 or by clicking here
The Parish Council and many residents have submitted objections, described on the Charnwood Local Plan page, to building on this scale when proposed in the draft local plan, and will continue to do so, now the details of the development have been submitted. Please click on the picture to see these plans in more detail. More information will be provided as the application progresses.

The planning application discussed below has not yet been fully validated by Charnwood’s planning team, so we are still not in a position to comment on it. The article available using the following link, included in the October edition of Thrussington Life, describes the current position in some detail. Further information will be provided as the application progresses. It is important to note that all previous objections we have made are ignored – entirely fresh objections will need to be made to stand any chance of preventing this outsized expansion of the village.
Now the planning application discussed below has been validated, we are able to object as described on the objections page. The instructions for making objections are now to be distributed to every home in the village.
